Altecnic joins innovation portal to boost transition to net zero

Altecnic Ltd, a supplier for hydronic solutions and part of the Caleffi Group, has been chosen as an innovation partner for a new self-service, interactive and intelligent marketplace for sustainable technologies.

The Wates Innovation Network (WIN) portal is the first initiative of its kind and has been created by the Wates Group, one of the UK’s leading family-owned construction, development and property services companies, to help businesses ‘build back better’. The portal will connect companies directly, and free of charge, with partners that can offer solutions to help meet sustainability targets. It aims to create an industry leading network that will accelerate the transition to net zero by showcasing smarter solutions to design, construct and maintain buildings.

Altecnic has been providing the SATK32107 Heat Interface Unit (HIU) for 18 months as a development of the SATK32 range. As an innovation partner, Altecnic will feature on the WIN portal alongside 41 other suppliers approved by a screening panel including 40 environmental experts. Users can filter sustainable innovations based on their requirements to find the product and supplier most suitable for them.

The new online portal will enable Altecnic to connect with businesses directly and better support them in providing tangible environmental and operational savings. Furthermore, the portal allows for Altecnic to spread information and awareness on their SATK32107 HIU, which recorded the lowest VWART (Volume Weighted Average Return Temperature) and annual primary flow rate on the BESA UK HIU Test Regime. As a result, the SATK32107 highlighted its high level of efficiency on low temperature/ heat pump lead networks- a step towards future proofing heat networks.

Gary Perry, MD at Altecnic, says: “We are delighted to be a partner of Wates and to have been selected by their panel of experts. Our SATK32107 HIU provides a step in the right direction of sustainable system design and efficiency.

“Innovation in heat interface unit technology is not new to us or our manufacturing colleagues at Caleffi. We believe that for the heat network industry to follow the recommendation that heat networks should be specified and developed with low temperature energy sources in mind, then the SATK32107 is a proven solution. We are excited to see what the future holds for the industry and for our partnership with Wates.”

John Dunne, Group Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Director at Wates, comments: “The market for sustainable solutions is expanding fast and companies who are not investing in innovations will soon be unable to compete. The issue is 95% of market ready sustainable technologies never get considered because key decision makers do not know they exist, or suppliers don’t have access to the key corporate decision makers. The WIN portal is bridging that gap, showcasing innovation and helping businesses to meet bold environmental targets.”
