Ideal Boilers has launched a cellular remote-monitoring system for its boilers, giving social landlords more information about their estates without requiring residents’ homes to be connected to the internet.
The solution, Ideal Diagnostics Cellular, can be installed on a wide range of the company’s boilers and gives landlords access to usage data and fault alerts via a secure and user-friendly online portal. This insight may increase operational efficiency and improve the level of service to residents.
Detailed remote diagnostics data means engineers will have much more information at their fingertips before even arriving at a property, potentially helping them carry out work more quickly and allowing them to bring the right parts for the job.
Usage data, meanwhile, can be a useful metric in helping to identify vulnerable people that are not heating their homes sufficiently and those living in fuel poverty. Similarly, landlords will be able to identify those properties with the highest energy consumption.
Lizzie Wilkinson, head of domestic product management at Ideal Boilers, says: “In ID-Cellular, we’ve come up with an easy-to-fit solution that can be installed in virtually any home, regardless of whether it has an internet connection or even a phone line, making it ideal for use on social housing properties. As the latest in a series of innovations designed for our social landlord customers, it will help them deliver even better service to thousands of residents.”
