Entries now open for UK Plumber of the Year

WaterSafe is calling for talented plumbers to enter the UK Plumber of the Year 2019 competition.

As the national register for approved plumbers, Watersafe is returning to the competition as an official judging partner and is encouraging proud plumbers to enter by the deadline of Friday 28 June.

Application can be made online at ukplumberoftheyear.com and needs to include details of a job they are most proud of. WaterSafe will shortlist 10 plumbers who will face a public vote to go through to the final in Tamworth later this year.

Chris Sneath MBE, founding director and chairman of WaterSafe, comments: “I’m delighted to return for the third time to the judging panel of this competition.

“I’m on the lookout for the perfect blend of professionalism, competence and practical skill. An impressive combination that led us to last year’s winner – WaterSafe member Steve Bartin.

“If you’re a skilled, qualified plumber – or know one among your friends, family or colleagues – there’s still plenty of time to enter the competition.”

WaterSafe is backed by all water companies in the UK and the drinking water inspectorates. It provides an online directory of plumbers in the UK who are trained to meet the strict regulations which aim to keep drinking water safe and healthy.

Last year’s winner Steve Bartin comments on the WaterSafe scheme: “I’m proud to be a member of WaterSafe. It’s a great way for customers to recognise reputable plumbers that have the knowledge and competency to do a job safely – giving them peace of mind.”

The competition is organised by JT, Bristan and Wolseley, and this year offers the winner a the largest prize fund so far, one worth £15,000.
