In-app features improve user experience

Users of Gas App and Plumb App can now benefit from improvements thanks to a partnership with Wolseley Plumb and Parts. The in-app features include exclusive member deals and tailored information about events and services at local Wolseley branches.

The partnership comes just over a year after Wolseley Plumb & Parts announced its headline sponsorship package with Gas App in January 2020.

Both apps are available on the App Store and Play Store, and currently have a combined over 60,000 members. Containing a wide variety of useful features, Gas App and Plumb App helps heating and plumbing installers improve the quality of their work while saving time and money.

In their first update following the partnership, both apps will introduce personalised Merchant areas where users can quickly locate their nearest Wolseley Plumb & Parts branch, view deals exclusive to specific branches and contact the branch to discuss any queries they may have. Information such as local supplier roadshows will also be available so installers never miss the opportunity to meet reps from their preferred suppliers.

Other features of the apps include libraries of manufacturer manuals and instructions, vital digital documents such as Gas Inspection forms and landlord gas safety records, job sheets, monthly competitions, and a community for installers to share best practice and troubleshoot problems on the job. The apps also contain peer-to-peer video reviews providing honest and reliable assessments from fellow engineers on new tools and products.

Ant Provan, director at Gas App and Plumb App, says: “Partnering with Wolseley Plumb & Parts is an extremely exciting chapter for Gas App and Plumb App users. We know both apps are already enjoyed by installers across the UK but there are always opportunities to improve the experience we provide. Wolseley’s knowledge of our industry and relationships with top suppliers will enable us to offer exciting new digital services, offers and product updates that make installers lives easier than ever.”

Chris Taylor-Hone, national director at Wolseley Plumb & Parts, adds: “In addition to the many exciting opportunities to improve the apps’ features and user experience, with the launch of the Merchant module, every one of our 409 Branch Managers will have the ability to speak directly to app users in their town about exclusive events and deals.

“Additionally, our specialist colleagues will be available to offer advice to app users within the app itself. Ant’s industry knowledge and insights, along with that of the apps many active users, will also be key in helping Wolseley Plumb & Parts shape its proposition to ensure we are providing our customers with the products and services they expect from their local merchant.”
