The Heat Geek Mini Store is a new line of super-compact, highly efficient hot water storage solutions developed by Newark Cylinders in collaboration with heating experts Heat Geek.
These specialised ‘Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers’ are designed to address the needs of homeowners who either don’t have a hot water storage cylinder or lack the space for a traditional unit. The Mini Stores are 1/4 to 1/3 the size of standard hot water cylinders, making them suitable for installation in small spaces like kitchen cabinets, airing cupboards, and under-stairs closets.
Despite their compact size, the Mini Stores can operate effectively at very low flow temperatures, as low as 40°C, making them well-suited for use with heat pump systems. They can also provide high flow rates to support up to three simultaneous showers and have very fast recharge times.
The reversible design allows the Mini Stores to be installed in various orientations, including wall-mounted, and 4 x ½in F BSP provides installers with multiple options for venting and draining points.
“The Mini Store range is not just for heat pumps though, because they can transfer full power at a low temperature. Gas boilers can be used at under a 45°C flow temperature with these, possibly as low as 40°C, which will give the highest efficiency gas hot water in the world but with huge outputs comparable to a 250-300 litre hot water cylinder,” comments Adam Chapman, founder, Heat Geek.
