City Plumbing is reminding customers to convert rewards points for Christmas gifts this week ahead of one of the busiest shopping weeks of the year.
Based on previous data, hundreds of My City Plumbing Rewards customers are expected to transfer points into gift vouchers worth tens of thousands of pounds for Christmas gifts this week. In 2023, hundreds of customers cashed in their points in the week leading up to Christmas, with the average spend worth £154.11. Compared to the summer months, which sees 69% of points used to buy e-gifts like shopping vouchers, 79% of points in the winter are redeemed for gift cards and shopping vouchers.
Last month, City Plumbing unveiled a new addition to its My City Plumbing Rewards programme, offering members the opportunity to redeem points on exclusive, personalised experiences arranged by a dedicated travel and hospitality expert. To mark the launch, the merchant is giving away a four-night trip to New York to one lucky member.
Katherine Ramsden, head of marketing at City Plumbing, says: “Our customers work so hard all year round, and winter is an especially busy time for many of them. Our rewards programme helps to thank and celebrate their hard work, and some customers over the year will earn points worth thousands or even tens of thousands of pounds. It’s great that so many of them use the points ahead of Christmas to put towards gifts for their loved ones – and maybe even themselves!”
My City Plumbing Rewards recognises and rewards tradespeople for every purchase they make, with no minimum spend required to start earning points. The programme offers a wide range of rewards, from TVs and holidays to smartwatches and gift vouchers from leading retailers, as well as the option to use points as credit or to donate to charity. Members also enjoy exclusive discounts and promotions and the chance to win prizes through a monthly draw.
