The best and worst places for plumbers to work in the UK have been revealed by MI Supplies. The workwear specialist analysed the yearly pay for plumbers in every city across the country and found where plumbers can earn the most and the least money from working in the trade.  

It was discovered that London and Bristol are the two best cities in the UK for plumbers to make a living. The average pay is £28,003 for those working in London and £27,194 for those working in Bristol.

Plumbers working in Plymouth and Belfast, meanwhile, have the lowest yearly salaries. They both came at the bottom of the list, with £24,297 the average wage for Plymouth plumbers, and £24,325 for those in Belfast.

The average wages for plumbers in London have, however, remained static since 2013. There is also a £3706 difference between the average pay for plumbers working in London compared to the lowest earning UK city, Plymouth.

The five best places to make a living as a plumber, according to MI Supplies are:

1) London – £28,003
2)  Bristol – £27,194
3)  Gloucester – £26,997
4)  Nottingham – £26,944
5)  Stoke – £26,893

Meanwhile, the five worst are:

1) Plymouth – £24,297
2)  Belfast – £24,325
3)  Peterborough – £24,489
4)  Bradford – £24,636
5)  Southampton – £24,773

MI Supplies analysed the yearly salaries for plumbers with at least five years of experience across 69 cities in the UK.

Data was provided by PayScale, the largest real-time salary survey in the world where more than 150,000 new survey records are added every month.
